Workshop “Digitization of Cultural Heritage”
As part of the international GLOHUM project, a workshop “Digitization of Cultural Heritage” was held October 1st – 4th, 2020. The aim of the workshop was to present contemporary methods and technologies in digitization and digital documentation process of cultural heritage to the students and early phase researchers. The participants had the opportunity to work with lecturers on the documentation of the stone sculpture from the Rab lapidary, as well as take part in the survey of an archaeological site “Gožinka” on the Kalifront peninsula, led by Prof. Miljenko Jurković. In addition to the theoretical introduction and critical overview of the current practices in the research, practical work included scanning the sculpture with a portable 3D Artec Eva scanner, 3D photogrammetric imaging of the sculpture, surveying the archaeological site with a total station and GNSS device, using GIS (Geographic Information System) and AutoCAD and documenting the site with a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle).
