Comments Off on Field Research in Dalmatia, Northern Adriatic and Istria

Following the active first year of the project, a significant emphasis was once again put on the field research in order to increase our scientific production in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants have thus conducted a series of field researches, covering the wide scope of areas, ranging from Istria to the central Dalmatia. These include major urban centers such as Zadar, Split or Pula, as well as singular archaeological sites like Dvigrad in Istria and the smaller rural areas. More than ever, we have focused on the research of heritage of eastern Adriatic islands, with field work conducted on the islands of Krk, Lošinj, Ugljan, Dugi otok, Rab and Pag. A series of activites were conducted, ranging from the various forms of documentation of sites and objects of interest using our state-of-the-art project equipment (such as GNSS device, UAV or Artec 3D scanner) to the extensive field surveying of the sites of choice. A major segment of the research activities was related to the documentation of sculpture (mostly in Quarnero region) and work in the libraries and archives (Split, Zadar and others).
